Won't You be My Valentine

I love the way that your hair smells fine
Always glowing in the bright sunshine
Thoughts of you running through my mind
Oh baby won’t you be my Valentine

Satchmo Singing Like a Trumpet

Sat outside the bar, sharing a cigar
Had a little scotch, it was the perfect touch
My hand hung at my side, it lingered on your thigh
The twinkle in your eye, meant you wanted to play shy

When Dolly sings just like a bell and Ella rips it out so swell
They stroll across the notes like waves upon a boat
Sounds like silk upon skin, just rustling in the wind
And don’t you just love it, Satchmo singing like a trumpet

A Chorus I Think

When Dolly sings just like a bell and Ella rips it out so swell
They stroll across the notes like waves upon a boat
And don’t you just love it, when Satchmo sings just like a trumpet

You Are My Juliette (with Verse 3)

Sitting on the back row listening to a tune
Heard about the new girl who’d transferred to our school
They said she’d be cheering as soon as Friday night
The classroom door popped open filled up with all her light
She walked right past the teacher cute as she could be
Then she dropped her backpack in the seat right next to me

Teacher said read Chapter 6 in your Anthologies
It was all about young lovers and their warring families
Then those cartoon light bulbs went off in my head
I knew within an instant She was my Juliette

Didn’t even say a word I’d wait till Friday night
Then I’d show this pretty girl that I could be alright
We were driving with the football I was running to daylight
The linebacker who hit me made my leg crack with a fright
Coaches ran to help me everyone had gathered round
Then the lovely Juliette was kneeling on the ground

She smiled and reached out to me a pom-pom in her hand
She whispered at Homecoming there’ll be a real cool band
Then raindrops started falling and this is what I said
I may not be a Romeo but you’re my Juliette

Now they play the music as the flower girl walks toward me
My mouth is dry I’m dripping sweat then suddenly I see
Even now the church is filled up with all your light
Like the first day that I saw you you’re such a pretty sight
You floated down the aisle and stared right back at me
It wouldn’t be much longer until we wed eternally

I don’t remember anything the Preacher had to say
Until he said God Bless you and let us walk away
Then those cartoon light bulbs went off in my head
I may not be a Romeo but you’re my Juliette

I may not be a Romeo but you are my Juliette

Locations

Today one of my dear friends called and asked me to post a blog about the upcoming film "Dustoff".  I told her I intended to on the blog for the film.  As a tribute to her I have posted this photo as an example of one of the locations that I scouted today for the film.  Isn't it beautiful?

Cause Freedom Isn't Free

Woke up in the morning a foxhole for a bed
I grabbed my Kevlar helmet and put it on my head
I read my daily bible verse and said a little prayer
For my little son with his blonde and golden hair

It wasn’t all that long ago he sat upon my knee
He looked me in the eye and asked Dad can’t you stay with me
I struggled with an answer and said what I believe
Son I've got to fight for freedom, Cause Freedom isn’t free

Then I did the daily things I cleaned my M-16
Had a bite to eat from a brand new MRE
Thought about the game I knew I couldn’t see
Then my captain said you’re going home on leave

He looked just like his momma played like me insane
He hit a walk off homer to win his team the game
I hugged him tight felt so right it was meant to be
He’s why I fight for freedom, Cause freedom isn’t free

Six months go by new orders say I have another tour
They said this is the last one but I’m not really sure
Cause in my arms a young boy gives up his one last breath
It was an IED that took him to his death

Now I’m at home but my mind’s alone my boy sits next to me
Dad I saw the photo with that boy nestled in your chest
I don’t know what happened I know you gave your best
Dad you know you’ve got to fight for freedom, Cause freedom isn’t free

My son is why I fight for freedom, Cause freedom isn’t free
He’s why I fight for freedom, Cause freedom isn’t free
