Fascinated by the Fascination?

Throughout history man has been fascinated by the female form. The prototype of the feminine form has varied greatly from culture to culture. I am in the entertainment industry; I admit I pay attention to the pop pieces and the paparazzi shots of various celebrities (notice I did not say movie stars that would imply talent).

One thing that fascinates me is the fascination from various scribes and photogs with the "Kardashian badonkadonk".

I am fascinated because I believe they're supremely misguided. Queen had a hit with "Fat Bottomed Girls". Morris Day and the Time had a line in a song, "Sweet Mother Jesus how'd you get all that in them jeans".....  But this "Kardashian donk" fascination, it does not compute.

Just in the 20th century some examples of beauty would be the "It Girl", the slinkiness of Jean Harlow, the pin up girl manifested by Betty Grable, the giddy intoxication of Marilyn,  the Outlaw Jane Russell, Kim Cattrall in Porky's, Mannequin, and Sex and the City, any Victoria Secret girl, a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover. All have classic beauty; most have athleticism and None! None of them have anything approaching the "donk".

Thank Goodness.

I think the fascination is the same as when people stop on the Interstate to gawk at the car wreck. I guess I should say dump truck wreck. The Brits call the trunk of a car the boot.
One could lose his boot in that trunk. Same reason people watch the early episodes of American Idol. You get the chance to see someone make an --s of themselves.

I don't watch the train wrecks. I watch the inspiration. The supreme achievement of an Olympic Champion. I guess I am fascinated with the fascination because I don't understand it.

Now I have to get Juhl's number..................

Sometimes I feel like Big Daddy Pollitt

Have you ever seen "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof"?  You know the classic movie with Liz Taylor when she was so strikingly beautiful.  Paul Newman played her drunk husband, Brick.

One of the most memorable characters in the film was Big Daddy played by Burl Ives.  Big Daddy had cancer. He was dying.  Half the family wanted Big Daddy's inheritance and didn't want to tell Big Daddy the truth about his illness.

The magic scene for me was Brick in a state of inebriation telling Big Daddy the truth about Big Daddy's future short life span.  Big Daddy knew in his heart the rest of the family his wife, daughter in law, other son, and grandchildren had been lying to him.

Tennessee Williams using "Big Daddy" introduced the word MENDACITY to American Pop Culture.  Why is mendacity important to me today.  Should my friends tell me that raw unvarnished truth or sugarcoat it in mendacities.

You know the kind of truth that allows you to step back from your mistakes and find a new way to success.  We all have success in us.  Let not the mendacity of others derail us.  Let my true friends recognize when others pile mendacity upon them.

So do you prefer your life in the sugarcoated prozac nation.  Not me!  I for one prefer that raw unvarnished pulsating in your face truth.

Waiting

Second post about waiting since I started blogging.  One of those things that make you go mmmmm.
I hate waiting.  Patience is supposed to be a virtue, Right....... ?  I feel like I'm always waiting on someone.
Exec. Producer, web guy, storyboard artist, business owner....whoever......
Just waiting.
Am I chapped? HELL YEAH!!
There is a huge difference between preparing and waiting.  Taking one's time to prepare and do it right the first time is definitely a plus........but just waiting so you can prepare is a waste.
Time down the drain.
We cannot recapture it.
Written while waiting in Starbucks..........
Had to do somethin'

Thought for the Day or should I say Year

Every morning I read a "Thought for the day".  I think I have always been self motivated and inherently lazy.  Amazing those conflicting points can exist in the same body.  I also feel that one's greatest asset can also be one's greatest liability.  It is a very fine line between being persistent and being pushy.  At the core they are the same trait.

I started reading Napoleon Hill's "thought for the day" probably in late November of 2009.  Therefore it has been with me for a little over a year.

This is today's message:

Failure seems to be nature’s plan for preparing us for great responsibilities.

I have had manageable responsibilities but I seem to have shirked the largest responsibility of a family.
But based upon my overwhelming failures Nature must have some huge overwhelming responsibilities in store for me...........
With God's help I can bear them but the curiosity of what they could be is overwhelming.
