Throughout history man has been fascinated by the female form. The prototype of the feminine form has varied greatly from culture to culture. I am in the entertainment industry; I admit I pay attention to the pop pieces and the paparazzi shots of various celebrities (notice I did not say movie stars that would imply talent).
One thing that fascinates me is the fascination from various scribes and photogs with the "Kardashian badonkadonk".
I am fascinated because I believe they're supremely misguided. Queen had a hit with "Fat Bottomed Girls". Morris Day and the Time had a line in a song, "Sweet Mother Jesus how'd you get all that in them jeans"..... But this "Kardashian donk" fascination, it does not compute.
Just in the 20th century some examples of beauty would be the "It Girl", the slinkiness of Jean Harlow, the pin up girl manifested by Betty Grable, the giddy intoxication of Marilyn, the Outlaw Jane Russell, Kim Cattrall in Porky's, Mannequin, and Sex and the City, any Victoria Secret girl, a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover. All have classic beauty; most have athleticism and None! None of them have anything approaching the "donk".
Thank Goodness.
I think the fascination is the same as when people stop on the Interstate to gawk at the car wreck. I guess I should say dump truck wreck. The Brits call the trunk of a car the boot.
One could lose his boot in that trunk. Same reason people watch the early episodes of American Idol. You get the chance to see someone make an --s of themselves.
I don't watch the train wrecks. I watch the inspiration. The supreme achievement of an Olympic Champion. I guess I am fascinated with the fascination because I don't understand it.
Now I have to get Juhl's number..................
Till we meet again,
