But Damn the Living's Good

Rolled out of bed, shook my head, drank a homemade cup
Could not afford a Starbucks dang I need some luck
Had to drive a truck just to make a buck Johnny needs a glove
Maybe with a second job I can show how much I love

Wife is great, she says she’s late, Laugh and knock on wood
I ain’t making much of a living but damn, the living’s good

Ran out the door pedal to the floor knew I can’t be late
Fifteen other people need this job I really hate
The price of gas will kick your ass during baseball season
Really don’t believe a caribou could be the reason

Wife is great, she says she’s late Laugh and knock on wood
I ain’t making much of a living but damn, the living’s good

Seems like those folks in DC ain’t relating much to me
Watching on the TV there ain’t no sense in what I see
Wondering what they meant about that hope and change
I’ve got some empty pockets just ten dollars to my name

Wife is great, she says she’s late Laugh and knock on wood
I ain’t making much of a living but damn, the living’s good

Driving home, my mind’s alone thinking bout my wife
I’m a lucky man, praise the man, I really love my life
We’ll find a way, we fight to play, we love the USA
Hard work one day we know will pay that’s always been the way

Let’s celebrate the wife is late Laugh and knock on wood
I ain’t making much of a living but damn, the living’s good
