Melanie

Sitting here alone
My heart is a lonely home
I smile and dream a memory

I loved a girl
Who had a cat
She sent me to exotic places
When she touched me
That's a fact
She used to say,
With sweet soft kisses Don't go away
That's when I'd hold her And squeeze her tight

Later at the park
She saw me as I kissed another
In the cold moonlight
Note on my car
Said don't you call You won't get far
Like a knife in the middle of my heart
Kicked her door down
Bowed my head and begged forgiveness
Cause it won't be the same without you

Felt her soft hand
Almost stroke and touch my face
Heard her say I love my cat
and just like her I hate a rat
End our war leave me now go away close the door
Please Melanie, touch me, tease me, hold me, kiss me, never leave me, squeeze me, hug me, please forgive me, Melanie, touch me, tease me, hold me, kiss me, never leave me, squeeze me, love me, please forgive me, Melanie

Felt her soft hand
Almost stroke and touch my face
Heard her say I love my cat
And just like her I hate a rat
End our war leave me now go away and close the door
Please

Sitting here alone
My heart is a lonely home
I smiled and dreamed a memory

"Adrenaline Rush". (REVISED)

I met a girl
She had a cat
And she was feisty
Just like that
The day we met was a Summer’s night
She went with me to the pool
And we drank and talked
Until the morning light

Felt liquid fire running through my veins
You know this blue eyed girl makes me insane
It’s the Rush,
That adrenaline rush
The Rush,
That adrenaline rush

Said I had some tickets to the football game
And afterwards we can dance and play
And then she smiled that wicked grin
My thumb reached out and touched her chin
So began our private dance
Of football, whisky, and long romance

Felt liquid fire running through my veins
You know this blue eyed girl makes me insane
It’s the Rush,
That adrenaline rush
The Rush,
That adrenaline rush

She loved steak dinners
And I bought her pearls
She had a wild streak
She was a sassy girl
And then one night I made a mess
When my clumsy finger ripped through her dress
That caused a Rush
An adrenaline Rush

Miss the liquid fire running through my veins
That blue eyed girl made me insane
It was the Rush
That adrenaline Rush
It was a rush
That adrenaline Rush.

I miss the liquid fire running through my veins
That adrenaline Rush.

"Adrenaline Rush"

I met a girl she had a cat
And she was Sassy just like that
She played with me like a ball of string
This ain't gonna be no easy fling

The day we met was a Summer's night
She was feisty and full of fight
She licked beer foam from her sexy lip
Thought I'd take her for a skinny dip

But don't forget she had a cat
And she was sassy just like that
It was hot and smelled like rain
Feeling liquid fire running through my veins
You know, that adrenaline rush

She went with me to the swimming pool
Her heart was country, she was sorta cool
Her eyes so blue and hair deep black
Her tan was gold and I made her laugh

Said, I've got some tickets if you'd like to play
Come with me and we'll see the game
The way her fingers tapped her chin
And then she smiled that wicked grin

But don't forget she had a cat
And she was sassy just like that
It was hot and smelled like rain
Feeling liquid fire running through my veins
You know, that adrenaline rush

And so began our private dance
Football, whisky, and a long romance
Tailgate parties to start the day
Dancing and playing the night away

It could've been perfect she was mighty fine
I remember the day she stole church wine
Playing songs all night on a loop
And putting popcorn in tomato soup

Feeling liquid fire running through my veins
But she was more than adrenaline rush

I wonder why I turned my head
And I'd find myself in another's bed
I learned my lesson way too late
I was a fool who tempted fate

I broke your heart and made a mess
At your dance when my finger ripped your dress
But you got me back when you stole my car
And you made me walk really far

I met a girl she had a cat
And I loved her sassy just like that
The only girl who could cause me pain
Felt like liquid fire running through my veins
The only girl who could cause me pain
Felt like liquid fire running through my veins
I loved a girl who had a cat
And I loved her sassy just like that

"Troublemaker"

When I met her she was dancing
Putting dollar bills away
In a little dive bar down in Athens
Breaking hearts all night and day
Drove up to see her in the city
On the river Tennessee
She wrapped the crowd around her finger
And went to Waffle House with me

She was a troublemaker
What was she going to say
We took a trip to Tucson
She broke my heart along the way
I thought she sounded like an angel
But making trouble was her way

The next time I saw her in a restaurant
Was on the way to Santa Fe
She had these pretty little freckles
Still breaking hearts all night and day
She smiled and leaned across the table
She stole a French fry from my plate
I couldn’t help but only laugh when
She squirted ketchup on my face

She was a troublemaker
What was she going to say
I thought she spoke just like an angel
But making trouble was her way
We took a trip to Tucson
and She broke my heart along the way

We packed the truck while up in Frisco
She had a pit stop in LA
She said wait here for me baby
There’s not much else that I can say
I took a pill and leaned the seat back
Thought I’d take a little nap
Two hours passed in just an instant
My troublemaker was not back

She was a troublemaker
What was she going to say
I thought she sounded like an angel
But making trouble was her way
We took a trip to Tucson
She disappeared along the way

Now she lives in Indiana
And it’s way too far away
She won’t get on an airplane

Cause of pat downs by the TSA
And road trips with a baby
Are really stressful so they say
But it doesn’t even matter
She’ll never come again to play

She was a troublemaker
What was she going to say
I only thought she was an angel
Cause making trouble was her way
When we made that trip to Tucson
She broke my heart along the way
