I met her while I was in Athens town
She was a waitress at the Town and Gown
She had really great looking legs
Her bubble butt would sway her mini-dress
I miss doing it
I miss hanging out with Dixie
Asked her out maybe thirty times
She was worth every phone call dime
Really tried gave my best
Thanked the Lord when I got a yes
I’ll be doing it
I’ll be hanging out with Dixie
We went to tailgate at a Bulldog game
Sunday morning brunch and champagne
Driving home would be sixty miles
All I remembered was a Dixie smile
I miss doing it
I miss hanging out with Dixie
Asked her if I could stay till Monday
We’ll see a movie then I’ll go away
You I know I bet we’ll have a blast
Then Monday morning you can go to class
I was doing it
I was hanging out with Dixie
We would go and play in Ric’s hot tub
He’d try and watch us do the rub-a-dub
She always thought I was just a flirt
It might be true anyway it hurt
I miss doing it
I miss hanging out with Dixie
She had some tickets went to Chastain Park
Holding hands kissing in the dark
She had such a cutie pretty face
I should have took her to the Steeplechase
I messed up doing it
I wasn’t hanging out with Dixie
Then I heard she was in love again
That means I’m gonna lose another friend
I had to meet him at a Bulldog game
I knew that things would never be the same
I miss doing it
I miss hanging out with Dixie
She tried to share me with her high school friend
It’s how we found out she was lesbian
Took me to her beach house on a holiday
I was just a beard so that she could play
I miss doing it
I miss hanging out with Dixie
There was a rumor Dixie’s feeling low
The words hit me like a body blow
They say she was drinking whiskey now
Think I’ll call her on the phone somehow
I miss doing it
I miss hanging out with Dixie
Now she’s living in Sandy Springs
To hear her smile is a pretty thing
Won’t have to ask her thirty times
Says she really likes my rhymes
I’ll be doing it
I’ll be hanging out with Dixie
Yeah hanging out with Dixie
Just hanging out with Dixie
