First day of school I was really shy,
I was a stranger the brand new guy
Didn’t have a clue what to say
Felt like I was made of clay
The day I met Jennifer, Jennifer in Georgia
She was the cutest girl in fourth grade
During recess we'd share some lemonade
She’d shake her hair and it would touch my desk
Don’t you know I was so impressed
With Jennifer, Jennifer in Georgia
Phone calls then were just a dime
We always talked on a party line
Watching Dark Shadows after school
Hope I don’t sound like a fool
Talking with Jennifer, Jennifer in Georgia
Met one day at the church picnic
Slipped away down to the crick
Remember how you held my hand
Made me feel just like a man
Kissed Jennifer, Jennifer in Georgia
Same home room while in high school
Cutting on a frog breaking all the rules
Sure am lucky cause I’m living a dream
Hanging out with the high school queen
With Jennifer, Jennifer in Georgia
Cheering on the team in the fall twilight
Her hair was shining bright in the bonfire light
Broke my leg so I missed my chance
To hold you tight at the football dance
With Jennifer, Jennifer in Georgia
Sitting on the hood of my coach’s car
Sipping moonshine from a Mason jar
Talking bout all the pretty girls in school
Hope I’m not sounding like a fool
‘Bout Jennifer, Jennifer in Georgia
We graduated and went away
You to nursing school and me to LA
You’ve got the magic touch
Me I hang around just writing such
Missing Jennifer, Jennifer in Georgia
I was running lines like I should
While walking down a street in Hollywood
Saw a pretty girl getting off the bus
She didn’t understand why I made a fuss
Wasn’t Jennifer, Jennifer in Georgia
I still remember the first day
When we met in fourth grade
The way your hair touched my desk
Even now I’m impressed
With Jennifer, Jennifer in Georgia
Impressed with Jennifer,
Jennifer in Georgia
